Maxine I. Nichols, 81, life resident of Morgan County, passed away Saturday, March 19, 2011, at the Colorado Plains Medical Center. She was born October 20, 1929, in Weldona, CO, to Orren & Lula Robertson. Maxine married Cecil Nichols on March 15, 1947, in St. Francis, KS. She worked several years as a cook for the Fort Morgan Public School District. She was a member of the United Presbyterian Church, and the VFW & American Legion Auxiliaries. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially with her grandchildren. Survivors include her children, Gary Nichols of Sterling, CO, Albert Nichols of Arvada, CO, Evelyn Bryan of Wiggins, CO, Evalu Underwood of Fort Morgan, and Ruth Powell of Idaho Springs, CO; her twin sister, Marjorie Schnorr of Loveland, CO; her brother, Donald Robertson of Tigard, OR; 11 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil, one son, Ronald; 1 great grandson, James, 1 great granddaughter, Taylor; 1 sister, Eleanor Purvis; 1 brother, Orval Robertson; and her parents. Funeral services will be Thursday, March 24, 2011, at 11:00 AM at the Heer & Dahl Mortuary Chapel in Fort Morgan. Interment will follow in the Riverside Cemetery.
