On April 13, 2021 Melba Grasser, 97, went to be with our Lord.

Melba was born November 20, 1923 to George and Lois Aufenkamp in Haigler, Nebraska.  She graduated from Parks High School in Parks, Nebraska in 1939.

Melba married Ralph Carlock on September 17, 1941 in Saint Francis, KS.  They moved to the Fort Morgan, CO area in 1951 where they farmed until 1959.  In 1980 they divorced; Ralph passed away on February 5, 1992.

On December 18, 1992 she married Duane Grasser in Apache Junction, AZ. They spent winters in AZ and summers in Englewood, CO.  Duane passed away on April 5, 1993.

Melba was employed by the State of Colorado Highway Department in the Greeley, CO office as Office Manager.  She retired on November 1, 1988.

She enjoyed traveling and spending winters in Arizona.  In her younger years she was an avid gardener.

She was proceeded in death by her parents; brother, Dale Aufenkamp; sisters, Agnes Kinard, Beulah Meeker, Irene Musgrave, and Edna Varwig; son, Terry Carlock; infant daughter, Marlyn Carlock;  son-in-law, Joe Hirschfeld; daughter-in-law, Claudia Carlock; granddaughter, Bonnie Carlock; grandson, David Cundall Jr.; great grandson, Taylor Easterberg; and great granddaughter, Jennifer Morton.

She is survived by son, Ray (Deb) Carlock; daughters, Patricia Hirschfeld, Linda (Dave) Cundall; granddaughters, Michelle Carlock, Raelynn Carlock, Makenna Carlock, Tamara Chapin, Christy Cundall; grandsons, Joe (Chris) Hirschfeld, John (Leslie) Hirschfeld, and Jeremy (April) Hirschfeld; great grandsons, Matthew Hirschfeld, Ethan Hirschfeld, Cody Hirschfeld, Ryan Hirschfeld, BJ Hirschfeld, and John (Chloe) Hirschfeld; Great Granddaughters Emily Hirschfeld and Rachel Hirschfeld , Great Great Grandson Wylder Hirschfeld.  She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held on April 28, 2021 at 11:00 AM at the Platte Valley Baptist Church, 22750 US Hwy 34, Fort Morgan, CO with Pastor Shannon Munday Officiating. Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery, Fort Morgan, CO.
