On November 8, 2017, Melva Jean Shults left this world for the next where she will rejoin her husband, Jack, her son Harold, her sister, Beverly Miller, and her brothers Melvin & Eugene Frick and her parents, Pete & Barbara Frick.

Jean was born June 12, 1928, in Culbertson, NE to Peter & Barbara Frick. When Jean was a child, the Frick family moved to the Brush community. Jean attended school in Brush. On August 3, 1950, she married Jack Shults in Raton, NM.

The Shults family lived in several different communities as Jack worked as a heavy equipment operator. After retiring, they moved back to Brush. Jean was a member of the United Methodist Church. She enjoyed doing craft work and doing Bible research. Her favorite time was spent with her family.

Survivors include her children, Barbara Morgan and Carol Woody both of Brush and Leo (Donna) Shults of Fredrick, CO; her brother Jerry Frick of Fruita, CO; and her 2 grandchildren, Jack & Abbey.

A Celebration of Life service will be Monday, November 13, 2017, at 11:00 AM at the Brush United Methodist Church. Inurnment will be in the Brush Memorial Cemetery Columbarium. The Heer Mortuaries & Crematory are entrusted with the funeral arrangements. Friends who wish may make memorial gifts to the Susan B. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.

Jean has left a world much different than the one she entered. She will be deeply missed by all she knew.
