Merle E. Cameron, 90, Long time Brush resident died Tuesday May 13, at his home in Brush. He was born February 9, 1918 in Beaver City, NE to John (Pete) and Ruth Cameron. His family moved to Limon in 1926. He attended Limon Public Schools graduating in 1936. He married Patricia M. Brady October 13, 1941 in Raton, New Mexico. He joined the Navy in January of 1942. He served two tours of duty with the Navy bombing squadrons aboard the USS Saratoga, USS Randolph, and others. After the Navy he worked as an automotive parts manager for 35 years in Limon and Brush. He always stayed active, camping, fishing, golfing and had many hobbies that kept him busy. He was a member of the Bethlehem Lutheran Church, the Masons Lodge #123 , the Scottish Rite Consistory and the order of Eastern Star #54. He is survived by his son Dwayne of Aurora, three grandsons, two step granddaughters, 3 great grandchildren and one sister Darlene Write of Colorado Springs. He was preceded in death by his wife Patricia, one son Dwight, and his parents. A Memorial service will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 am at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Brush, the service will conclude at the Church. Inurnment will be at a later date n the Ft.
