Michael R. Burkholder, 67, passed away at his home near Hillrose on Tuesday, January 24, 2017. He was born November 30, 1949 in Sterling, CO to LaVern & Shirley (Dick) Burkholder.

Mike attended & graduated from Crook High School. He worked the majority of his life in the seed corn industry. At the time of his death, Mike was an area representative for Crop Production Services (CPS).

Mike enjoyed hunting, fishing, serving as a guide for hunts in Kansas, farming, and spending time with family and friends.

Survivors include his wife, Alana; their children, Lynelle Nelson, Tyler (Bobbi) Burkholder of Scottsbluff, NE, Brandi (Jeremy) Bailey of Julesburg, Mickey (Kevin) George of Brush, Chad McLaughlin of Greeley, CO, and Willie (Stephanie) Johnson of Hillrose, CO; 12 grandchildren; his Mother, Shirley Kaiser of Fleming, CO; brothers Larry Burkholder of Sterling and Paul Kaiser Jr. of Crook, CO; sister, Gena Kinoshita of Sedgwick, CO; and numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends. He was preceded in death by his Father and Step-Father.

A celebration of life service will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, February 1, 2017, at the Crook Colorado Community Center. Private burial will be in Kansas at a later date.

In memory of Mike, family ask that you take a moment to hug your child, grandchild, friend, or walk in the woods for a moment. Time waits for no one.
