Michael "Mike" Christopher Connelly, 80, passed away Sunday, September 4, 2016, after a long illness. He was born November 28, 1935, in McPherson, KS, Mike always celebrated his birthday on Thanksgiving Day.

Following graduation from college, Mike served in the United State Army. Prior to retirement, Mike worked as a production and drilling engineer in the petroleum industry.

Mike enjoyed many things including playing golf – especially in Arizona, and watching football. His favorite activity was spending time with his family and many friends.

Survivors include his wife, Carolyn (Jolly) Connelly of Fountain Hills, AZ; 1 daughter, Susan, 1 son, Brian and 2 grandsons, Michael J. and Riley R; 2 brothers, Harry S. "Pete" and Denis; and 1 sister Colleen Moss, and many wonderful nieces, nephews and extended family. He was preceded in in death by his son, Patrick; his parents, Marian & Harry S. Connelly, his brother William, & Thomas, and his sister, Patsy Holt.

A Memorial Mass was held on Thursday, September 8, at The Church of the Ascension in Fountain Hills, AZ. Concluding services and inurnment will be Thursday, September 15, 2016, at the Brush Memorial Cemetery in Brush, CO. The service will be held at the Interment Chapel located in the NW part of the north cemetery. The Heer Mortuary is entrusted with the Colorado arrangements. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to Hospice of the Valley or to a favorite charity in Mike's name.
