Michael (Mick) Price, DVM

September 3, 1937 – December 3, 2024

Michael (Mick) Price, 87 of Fort Morgan, passed away December 3, 2024 at Pathways Hospice in Ft. Collins.

He was born and raised in Ft. Morgan, Colorado to Horace and Josephine (Anderson) Price.

Mick graduated from Ft. Morgan High School and then went on to CSU in Ft. Collins to pursue a Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine degree.  He was a practicing veterinarian until retirement at 75 years old.

His successful veterinary career spanned 50+ years, and he was well regarded as one of the best horse vets around.  He started his love of equine medicine as a track Vet at Centennial Racetrack in Denver.  He went on to have a private practice in Ft. Morgan and then chose to work privately for Jack Boxer & Son's Feedlot for many years while raising his family.  Once all the kids were grown, he re-started a private practice specializing again in horses until his retirement.

Mick enjoyed camping, fishing, backpacking, gardening, water skiing and generally being entertained by the kids, grandkids and great grandkids.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Horace and Jo Price, his son Rick (Jonna) Price, his wife Alicia Price, and two grandchildren Cade Brown and Cheyenne Boyd.

Mick is survived by his brother Tim (Cindy) Price of Ft. Morgan, his children, Randy (Stephanie) Price of Ft. Collins, Teri (Duke) Boyd of Moody TX, and Crystal (Dan) Baker of Wellington, CO, as well as 6 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

A family celebration will be held at a later date, and he will be laid to rest next to his loving wife, Alicia, in Akron, CO.
