Mildred "Millie" M. Atwood, 87, passed away Saturday, July 30, 2022, at the Valley View Villa Nursing Home in Fort Morgan. She was born September 27, 1934, in Thurman, to Soren & Leah "Bessie" Grotteland.

Much of Millie's professional life was centered on the hospitality industry, but she found her solitude in her flower filled yard. Millie married Bob Atwood on September 27, 1980, in Brush. They continued to live and work in Morgan County until they retired.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bob; two brothers, and her parents.

Survivors include her son, John and his wife Beth; three grandchildren; and three nieces. Her "Splinterville" neighbors, Arielle, Kat, Jason, Sherilyn, and Deb were a true godsend during the sunset of Millie's life.

At Millie's request, no service will be held. Inurnment will be in the Serenity Falls Columbarium.
