Mildred M. Forstedt, 97, passed away Monday, February 13, 2012. Mildred was born in Denver, CO, on August 23, 1914 to Charles and Emily Dinkelaker of Denver. She attended South High School in Denver and graduated on June 10, 1932. She attended Colorado Women's College in Denver and obtained her Associates Degree in Science on June 7, 1934. She went on to Colorado State University in Fort Collins and Graduated from CSU with a Bachelor of Science Degree on June 14, 1936. She married Ronald M. Forstedt in Denver on June 10, 1939. They lived in Denver where Ronald operated a sewing machine repair business with his father and brother. In 1941, Ronald was called to active duty in the armed forces. During that time, Mildred worked as a clerical assistant and Red Cross Volunteer. In 1946, Mildred and Ronald moved to Fort Morgan, and Ronald opened Fort Morgan Furniture and Sewing Machine Exchange Company. Mildred was active in the Fort Morgan United Presbyterian Church, Fort Morgan Women's Club, The Fort Morgan Hospital Auxiliary, the American Legion Auxiliary, the VFW Auxiliary, The Fort Morgan Country Club Ladies Golf Association, and Fort Morgan Chapter Number 54, Order of the Eastern Star. She served as the secretary-treasurer of Fort Morgan Furniture, Ltd., until her retirement. In addition to her other activities, Mildred was known as an accomplished bridge player and excelled at duplicate bridge. Mildred is survived by her son, James Forstedt and his wife, Debra, four grandsons, one granddaughter, and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Ronald, 2 sisters, and her daughter Ann (Forstedt) Johnson. Friends who wish may send contributions to the United Presbyterian Church, Tribute Assisted Living Center, or Hospice of Northern Colorado, care of Heer-Dahl Mortuary. Private family services will be held at a later date. Inurnment will be at Serenity Falls Columbarium.
