Miriam Elenor (White) Buckmaster was 94 years of age when she passed away on September 4, 2019, while at home in The Arbor, Eben Ezer Lutheran Care Facility.  She was born in Brush Colorado on August 15, 1925 to Everet and Cleoma (McNamee) White, their only daughter.

In 1943, Miriam graduated from Brush High School where she was active in many activities including singing and acting in the theater and music clubs.  After graduating, she attended the University of Colorado School of Nursing.  On November 8, 1945 Miriam married Norman Buckmaster, her high school sweetheart in St. Francis, KS.  The couple moved to Peoria, IL where Norm attended Bradley University studying watch making.  The family moved to Cheyenne WY where he was employed by Todd's Jewelry.  Miriam was active in Mother's Club, United Methodist Church and PTA.

After Norm died in 1975, Miriam returned to Brush and was able to complete her RN degree.  She worked at Sunset Manor for 10 years and traveled to many foreign lands.  She became a active member of the Brush United Methodist Church, PEO, Brush Music Club, and served on several boards of directors including Brush Museum, EMCH Foundation, Head Start, Brush Chamber of Commerce.

Miriam enjoyed life.  She loved to sing, tell stories, act as a clown, entertaining many groups in the area.  She always was positive and saw her life as an adventure

Survivors include her three children: Tanna Grundy of Nova, OH; Valerie Orr of Washougal, WA; Norman Buckmaster of East Glacier, MT; 5 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and 1 great, great grandson.  She is preceded in death by her husband and her parents,

A Memorial Service to celebrate Miriam's life with be held on Friday, 9-13-2019, at 11 am at the Brush United Methodist Church.  Inurnment will be in the Brush Cemetery following a luncheon.  Friends who wish may make memorial gifts to the Miriam Buckmaster Memorial Fund c/o the Heer Mortuary.
