Morris (Morey) Lee Greenwood, age 77, passed away on November 24, 2023, in Phoenix, Arizona, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on December 24, 1945, to Fred and Charlotte Greenwood in Fort Morgan, Colorado.

Morris spent his final days retired in the warm Arizona sunshine, finding solace and joy in the company of his wife. He attended school in Weldona and later married the love of his life, Emma (Arlene) Fenn, on February 4, 1971. Together, they built a family and shared a life filled with love and cherished moments.  Morris was a proud father to three sons: Douglas, James, and Jason.

In 1964, Morris joined the Army, embarking on a distinguished military career that spanned 26 years until his retirement in 1990. Throughout his service, Morris displayed exceptional dedication and courage, completing three tours in Vietnam. His military accomplishments were numerous, including the receipt of three Bronze Stars. Morris was a lifetime member of the VFW.

Beyond his military service, Morris had a passion for gardening, fishing, and woodworking. He took great pride in tending to his large garden in Weldona, finding joy in the beauty of nature. His woodworking skills were a testament to his creativity and craftsmanship.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his two sons, Douglas and Jason, and his siblings, Doris, Charles, Lloyd, and Harvey.

He is survived by his wife, son James, brothers Richard and Fred, his sisters and brother-in-law, Linda, Crystal, Laura, Carolyn, Kay, Barb, and Earl. He is also survived by his adoring grandchildren: Makenzi, Hannah, Megan, Nadia, and Noah and many nieces, nephews, family and friends.

A visitation and Rosary Service will be held on Monday, December 18, at Heer Mortuary in Fort Morgan at 6 pm. A memorial service is scheduled for Tuesday, December 19, 2023, at St. Helena Catholic Church at 10 am, with inurnment to follow at Memory Gardens. A luncheon will be served at Monsignor Dinan Hall, providing an opportunity for friends and family to come together in celebration of Morris's life.

Morris Lee Greenwood will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, and dedicated serviceman. May he rest in peace, and may his memory live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
