Muriel A. Hansen, 95, life resident of Morgan County, passed away Thursday, March 13, 2008, at the Eben Ezer Lutheran Care Center in Brush. She was born June 17, 1912, on the family farm near Snyder, to Christian B. & Amanda (Brinker) Hansen. Muriel's Mother died when Muriel was 3 years old. Her Father married Minnie Olsen, who became Muriel's cherished step-mother. Muriel graduated from Brush High School in 1930, and then attended Barnes Business School in Denver. She later came back to Brush where she worked as office manager for Public Service Company of Colorado, now known as Excel Energy, for 41 years. Muriel was a member of the Rankin Presbyterian Church since 1922. She was very active in the church, serving on the board of directors, singing in the choir, and teaching Sunday School. She was a member of PEO Chapter "T" for over 50 years. Muriel loved music and was a member of the Brush Music Club for over 70 years, and volunteered with the American Red Cross for over 20 years. Survivors include 2 nieces and 1 nephew. She was preceded in death by her sister, Helen Scanlon and her parents. Funeral services will be Tuesday, March 18, 2008, at 10:00 AM at the Rankin Presbyterian Church, 422 Clayton Street in Brush. Interment will follow in the Brush Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be at the Heer Mortuary on Monday from 3 – 5 PM. Friends who wish may make memorial gifts to the Rankin Presbyterian Church.
