Muriel L. Lusby, life resident of the Brush community, passed away Tuesday, February 7, 2012, at the Bonnel Good Samaritan Assisted Living Center in Greeley. She was born February 25, 1930, in Brush, to William C. & Hazel B. Thornsby. Muriel graduated from Brush High School in 1948. On June 25, 1951, she married Dr. Luther C. Lusby. He died in 1970. Prior to retirement, Muriel worked as the medical records supervisor at Sunset Manor Nursing Home for 23 years. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. Her favorite pastime was spent with her boys and their families. Survivors include her sons, Mark of Greeley, Louis of Northglenn, Robert of Commerce City, and Paul of Denver; 2 brothers Bill Thornsby of Fort Morgan and Norman Thornsby of Brush; 2 sisters, Lenora Repp of Hood River, OR and Evelyn Spears of Largo, FL; 2 granddaughters, Erika, and Heather; and 2 great granddaughters, Madison and Rory. She was also preceded in death by 1 brother, Robert, and her parents. Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, February 11, at 10:30 AM at St. Helena Catholic Church in Fort Morgan. The Rosary will be recited before the Mass beginning at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow in the Brush Memorial Cemetery.
