Murl Michael Marting, 76, passed away Saturday, March 20, 2021 with his loving family surrounding him. He was born October 26, 1944, in Salem, Indiana to Elvis & Irene Stroud.

Following his high school graduation, Murl joined the US Marine Corp. On December 2, 1967, he married Barbara Pinard in Las Vegas, NV. Murl was honorably discharged from the Marine Corp on February 14, 1969. He then began a working career as a welder. After retirement, Murl & Barbara moved to Fort Morgan in 2012. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He enjoyed fishing with his children and later with his grandchildren, he especially loved time spent with his family, Murl's family was his world.

Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Barbara; 4 children, Charles (Stacy) of Wiggins, CO; Melissa (Sotogi) Tuala of Independence, MO; Michael (Jennifer) of Grants Pass, OR; and Sarrah (Abraham) Fawson of Fort Morgan; 17 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren as well and nieces and nephews he loved and adored. He was preceded in death by 8 brothers & sisters, and his parents.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, July 3, 2021, at 10:00 AM at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Fort Morgan.  Military honors will immediately follow the service.  Inurnment, with military honors, will be at Fort Logan National Cemetery in Denver.
