Mya Lucy Balderas, January 10, 1985 – April 4, 2022

Mya lived a fulfilling life as a mother to five, two of which are her stepchildren; Tricia, Xavier, Dominick, Honey and Adena; an amazing wife to her husband, Taylor North; cherished daughter to Patricia Guzman-Lara, Francisco Balderas and late stepfather, Gregory Lara; a caring sister to seven siblings, Manny, Nathan, Anthony, Izayis, Amos, Enadena, and Krystal; and sister-in-law, Taylor Guzman; granddaughter to Lucy Guzman and the late Henry Guzman; niece to the late Charlie Guzman, Andy Guzman and Una & Tony Miller; beloved aunt to Charles, Esperanza, Savannah, Alexis, Max, Van, Cal; and friend to all; Mother-in-law, Bettina Caro; brother and sister-in-law, Noah & Courtney Mintz and nieces, Aniyah & Jacqueline.

Mya's career meant the utmost to her as she believed we reap what we sow. Most of her career was spent working medical administration. Most recently, she worked as a worker's compensation specialist, handling all communication with providers, employers and injured workers. Having built her department, she will be greatly missed. Her coworkers remember her as being a hard worker, selfless, compassionate and just an amazing woman who navigated life effortlessly.

To Mya, family bonds were sacred, as she was the matriarch to her family. Mya's favorite color was brown and her favorite animal being a bear because of its strength and compassion towards it's young. Mya was also a prankster, many times, getting a good laugh at her family member's expense.  She enjoyed adventures with her husband and children. This included trips to the mountains, car races, Comic-Con, fishing and shopping. She loved to go on walks with her family, cooking dinner for them and spectating their sporting events. Most of all Mya loved to retract at her home with her husband, children and her two fur babies-Zeus and Hera. "Netflix and chill" being the motto. She created a home enriched in love. This was truly her happy place. Her legacy will live on in the hearts and minds of everyone she knew, as she will be greatly missed.

A service to celebrate Mya's life will be held at the Heer Mortuary Chapel, 225 E. Platte Ave. in Fort Morgan on Thursday, April 14 ^th at 11:00 AM.
