Myrna J. Gassman, 71, passed away Friday, August 14, 2009, at the East Morgan County Hospital in Brush. She was born March 15, 1938, in Fort Morgan, CO, to George & Pearl Jones. When Myrna was a child the Jones family moved away from Morgan County. On July 15, 1955, Myrna married Marvin J. Gassman in Denver. Prior to retirement, Myrna worked as a supervisor for Travelers Insurance Company. In 1997, Myrna and Marvin moved to Morgan County from Commerce City, CO. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and worked with the Altar and Rosary Society. She enjoyed volunteering at the East Morgan County Library, and loved to work in her flower garden. Her home was her "castle". Survivors include her husband, Marvin of Brush; 4 children, Marvin Jr., of Broomfield, CO, Denise Garcia of Thornton, CO, Doreen Gunning and Susan Garcia both of Commerce City, CO; 2 brothers, Doug Jones of Aurora, CO, and Steve Jones of Seattle, WA; 12 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Rosary service will be Tuesday, August 18, at 7:00 PM at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 340 Stanford Street in Brush. Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday at 10:30 AM at St. Mary's Catholic Church. Interment will follow in Memory Gardens in Fort Morgan. Visitation will be at the Heer & Dahl Mortuary in Brush on Tuesday from 1 – 5 PM. Friends who wish may make memorial gifts to the American Cancer Society c/o Heer & Dahl Mortuary.
