Nancy C. Duerr, 72, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, went to her heavenly home on Sunday, Aug. 29th, at Mercy Hospital in Cedar Rapids. Celebration of Life services will be held at Life Fellowship Foursquare Church in Fort Morgan, Colorado on Saturday, Sept. 4th at 2 PM with Pastor Kelly Cupples officiating. Visitation will be at the Heer & Dahl Mortuary in Ft. Morgan on Friday, Sept. 3rd from 5 until 8 PM. Interment will be Tuesday the Sept. 7th at 9:00 AM at Memory Gardens in Ft. Morgan. She was born October 5, 1937 in Chappell, Nebraska to Tom and Mary Borm. Nancy raised her family there until 1994 when she transfered with Leprino Foods to work in the Fort Morgan plant where she retired in 2002. She went to live with a daughter and son-in-law in Cedar Rapids in 2006 because of health concerns. Being a woman of faith, she graciously lived the Word, she loved to read, by sacrificing herself on the behalf of others. Nancy was a people person who enjoyed cooking, baking, and visiting with family and friends but her pride and joy was her children and grandchildren. Nancy was known as a hard-working woman, often working two jobs and long hours, sacrificing to provide well for the seven children and several grandchildren she helped raise. She generously shared all she had and all were welcomed into her home. Nancy also appreciated simple pleasures; she was always ready to go for ice cream or a Sunday drive, watch movies and read with her grandchildren, or just pausing to smell the roses she loved. She was much loved and will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Nancy is survived by daughters, Kim (KC) Kelly of Cedar Rapids, IA, Kristi Valandry of Lincoln, NE, Susan(Dave)Brown of Oakridge, TN, Mikki Reich of Weldona, CO, Melissa (Steve) Taylor of Fort Morgan, CO, and April Barron, of Fort Morgan, CO; her son, Steve (Renee) Duerr, of Bonney Lake, WA, and two sisters, Janice Baldridge and Mary Lynn Peterson, both of Chappell, NE. Nancy also has 15 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Tom and Mary Borm, a sister, Betty Tophoj, and two grandchildren, Trevor Duerr and Christopher Konruff. Memorials may be directed to the family.
