Nancy Clara Smith, 72, a resident of Ft. Morgan since 1995, died Wednesday, September 17, 2008 at the Colorado Plains Medical Center in Ft. Morgan. She was born December 7, 1935 in Rocky Ford, Colorado to Nobel and Dorothy (Thompson) Davis. Nancy married Ralph Eugene Smith on August 6, 1955 in Raton, New Mexico. He died in 1992. Nancy enjoyed drawing and painting, especially landscapes. Survivors include two sons, Ralph E. Smith Jr. of Leadville and Ted Smith of Ft. Morgan, one brother, Danny Davis, one sister, Mary Lou Miller of Brush, four grandchildren and one great grandchild. Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, husband Ralph, five sisters, Betty, Barbara, Hester, Dorothy and Carol and two brothers, Jimmy and Billy Davis. Memorial Services will be Friday, September 26, 2008 at 10:30 AM at the Heer Mortuary Chapel in Ft. Morgan. Services will conclude at the Mortuary. The Heer Mortuary and Crematory in Ft. Morgan is in charge of the arrangements.
