Obituary

Naomi Yearous, 91, lifelong resident of Fort Morgan, died Monday, March 12, 2012 at the Eben Ezer Lutheran Care Center in Brush. Naomi was born April 5, 1920 in Fort Morgan, to Dewey & Ferne(Plumb) Henness. She married Joe (Breezy) O. Yearous on November 20th, 1938. She worked as the secretary at the Junior High School in Fort Morgan for many years. Mrs. Yearous loved working with children. She enjoyed listening to church and classical music as well as going to polka dances with her husband, Joe. Naomi also enjoyed reading poetry, going on walks, and taking in the fresh air and the sounds of the birds. Naomi is survived by her son, Dr. Joe O. Yearous Jr. of Tucson, AZ; one brother, Dale Henness of Greeley; 11 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Joe, and daughter, Karenjo Griffith, three sisters, Marilyn Canfield, Norma Henson, Joyce Hansen, and one brother Bob Henness. A Visitation will be held on Monday, March 19th from 4-6 PM at the Heer & Dahl Mortuary in Fort Morgan. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, March 20th at 11:00 AM at the United Presbyterian Church in Fort Morgan. Interment will follow in Riverside Cemetery.
