Neal Edward Zimbelman, 75, lifelong area resident, died Wednesday, June 11, 2008 at the Colorado Plains Medical Center in Ft. Morgan. Neal was born October 18, 1932 in St. Francis, Kansas to Edward and Lydia (Croissant) Zimbelman. He was a member of the Lutheran Church of Our Redeemer in Ft. Morgan. Neal married Marjorie Alles on June 20, 1951 in Ft. Morgan. Marjorie died on June 9, 1990. On September 4, 1992 he married Betty Johnson in Ft. Morgan. Neal was a member of the Lutheran Church of Our Redeemer in Ft. Morgan. Zimbelman was a Life Member of the Elks Lodge #1143 in Ft. Morgan. He was an active member of the Elks, serving on various committees through the years, and was twice named Elk of the Year. Neal was a Boy Scout Leader, drove the Methodist Church's bus, the "Red Bomb" and enjoyed fishing, playing cards and traveling. He and Betty spent the last several years wintering in Arizona. Survivors include, his wife Betty of Ft. Morgan, one son, Rick Zimbelman of Morrison, Colorado, one daughter, Cheri Jarrell of Aurora, two step-sons, Rick Johnson and Randy Johnson both of Fairbury, Nebraska, one step-daughter, Susan Hale of Greeley, two sisters, Janet Rogers and Gertrude Lloyd both of St. Francis, Kansas, eight grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Neal was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife Marjorie and sister Martha Zimbelman. Memorial Services will be Tuesday, June 17, 2008 at 10:30 AM at the Lutheran Church of Our Redeemer in Ft. Morgan. Inurnment will follow in Riverside Cemetery. Memorial Gifts may be made to either the Lutheran Church of Our Redeemer or to the Fort Morgan Elks # 1143, building fund. The Heer Mortuary and Crematory in Ft. Morgan is in charge of the arrangements.
