Nellie R. Griggs, 85, lifetime resident of the Brush community, passed away Tuesday, January 20, 2015, at Valley View Villa Nursing Home in Fort Morgan. She was born May 13, 1929, in Brush to Floyd & Lula Ramsey. Nellie married Melvin Griggs on July 30, 1946, in Greeley. She enjoyed her life as a farm wife and mother. Following the death of her husband in 1980, Nellie lived in Arizona for a few years. She later moved back to Brush to be closer to her son. Survivors include her son, David Griggs of Brush and one brother, James Ramsey of Austin, TX. She was preceded in death by her husband, 5 brothers, Robert Loomis, Howard Loomis, Keith Ramsey, Merle Ramsey, Kenneth Ramsey, and her parents.
