Nila Mae Schiel 76, Long time Ft. NILA MAE SCHIEL, 77, longtime Fort Morgan resident, died Tuesday evening at Valley View Villa in Fort Morgan. Mrs. Schiel was born June 29, 1929 on the family farm in Yuma. She graduated from Yuma High School. She married Peter Schiel in Yuma on July 3, 1952. Though Mr. & Mrs. Schiel had lived several other places, they lived in Fort Morgan for the majority of their lives. Mrs. Schiel was a member of Saint Helena Catholic Church in Fort Morgan. She enjoyed bowling, camping, and playing cards. She is survived by her five sons; Mike Schiel of Leavenworth, WA, Roger Schiel of Weldona, Zach Schiel of Soldotna, Alaska, Eric Schiel of Spokane, WA, and Tyler Schiel of Fort Morgan; two brothers, Maurice Hahn of Yuma and Harvey Hahn of Sterling; 14 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Mrs. Schiel was preceded in death by her husband, one brother, Stanley Hahn, and her parents. Visitation will be Tuesday, Aug. 1st from 4 - 6 PM at the Heer & Jolliffe Mortuary Chapel in Fort Morgan followed by a Rosary Vigil at 6:00 PM, also at the chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, Aug. 2nd at 11:00 AM at Saint Helena Catholic Church in Fort Morgan. Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery in Sterling at 2:00 P.M.
