Nola Virginia Carlson, 80, longtime area resident, died Saturday, July 13, 2013 at the North Colorado Medical Center Hospice Unit in Greeley. She was born April 11, 1933 in Oberlin, Kansas to Manny and Lettie (Baxter) Jaderborg. Nola married Harlan Carlson on June 24, 1951 in Atwood, Kansas. He died in 1999. Nola was an active member of the United Methodist Church in Ft. Morgan. She was a good cook and liked to cook for other people. She made afghans to give away, collected items from Sweden and enjoyed bowling. In her younger years she was a school bus driver, worked at the Harned Bakery and at Morgan Medical Equipment and Supplies. Survivors include one daughter, Lana Carlson of Ft. Morgan, and numerous nieces and nephews. Nola was preceded in death by her husband Harlan, an infant son Carl, one sister Shirley Toman, one brother, James Jaderborg and her parents. Memorial Services will be Monday, July 22, 2013 at 2:00 pm at the United Methodist Church in Ft. Morgan. Inurnment will follow in the Serenity Falls Columbarium in Ft. Morgan. Memorial gifts may be made in Nola's name in care of the Heer Mortuary or to the United Methodist Church.
