Obituary

Noreen Dee Otis, 56, passed away Wednesday, March 31, 2021, at the Medical Center of the Rockies in Loveland, CO.  Noreen was born August 11, 1964, in Burlington, Vermont to Norris Gaudette & Avis Hayden Gaudette. She was the third of four children born to Avis and was born late in her life. Both Noreen's biological parents passed on when she was a young child. So for her life, she lived with her half sister Hazel and step family in Texas. She stayed there until she got married.

Noreen married her first husband, Bart Harlen, and had her first daughter, Katherine when she was fairly young. Shortly after they separated and she moved to Colorado. Noreen met her second husband, Mark Gilbert, in Colorado. They had four more children. Noreen was interested in health care her entire life. Noreen worked for many years as a certified nurse aid for various home health care agencies. She enjoyed taking care of those that needed help and was much better at taking care of others then herself. She also cared deeply for animals and spent time working for animal shelters. Her own health conditions and the COVID-19 pandemic forced her to stop working in home caregiving, which she loved.

Noreen married Glen Otis on July 28, 2016, in Fort Morgan. She was deeply loved and they were happily married for four years. During this later part of her life, she spent lots of time trying to better herself, understand and unbury her past, and help those close to her. She did the best she could to show those she loved that she cared for them. During the last year of her life, with Katherine's help, she was able to find out a lot about who her true family was and where they came from. This was very important to her.

She is survived by: her husband, Glen Otis; 6 children, Katherine Roller, William Gilbert, Sarah Gilbert, Joshua Gilbert, Michelle Gilbert and Lloyd Otis; and 9 grandchildren. She also is survived by her sister Hazel Ouellette, step sister, Lorie McWhirter, and several nieces and nephews.
