OFELIA PINEDA MENDOZA, 70, of Fort Morgan, died Thursday, June 28, 2012 in the emergency room of Colorado Plains Medical Center. She was born in Mexico on May 28, 1942 to Gonzalo & Presentacion (Gutierrez) Mendoza. She married Justino Pineda in May of 1958. They have lived in the Fort Morgan area for the past 20 years. Ofelia was a member of New Creation Church in Fort Morgan. She enjoyed gardening, singing, and caring for her grandchildren, often giving advice to solve their problems. She spent her days as a loving homemaker and dedicated wife. Being involved in church and living an active prayer life was most important to her. Ofelia is survived by her beloved husband of 54 years, Justino Pineda; their six children, Norma Flores, Arturo Tamayo, Esperanza Leon, Justino Pineda Jr., Glafira Barrera, and Mireya Chafino, all of Fort Morgan, 22 grandchildren, and 18 great grandchildren. Ofelia is also survived by her sisters, Ester Margarito of California and Rita Mendoza of Texas. Visitation will be today, July 2nd from 4 – 8 PM at the Heer & Dahl Mortuary Chapel in Fort Morgan. Funeral services will be at 4:00 PM on Tuesday, July 3rd at New Creation Church on Burlington Ave. in Fort Morgan. Interment will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery in Fort Morgan.
