Opal Irene Parker, 90 of Ft. Morgan, died Thursday, February 28, 2008 at the Colorado Plains Medical Center in Ft. Morgan. She was born March 6, 1917 in Brainard, Minnesota to Charles and Myrtle (Kinney) Wright. In 1948, Opal married Edmond E. Parker in Las Vegas, Nevada. She moved to this area from Arkansas in 1980. Mrs. Parker enjoyed reading, working crossword puzzles, cooking and tending to her flower garden. Opal is survived by one daughter, Jean Sears of Greeley, 10 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Edmond, two sons, Donald and Gayle Schlegel, a daughter, Kathleen Witt, five brothers and four sisters. There are no services are scheduled at this time. Cremation arrangements are entrusted to the Heer Mortuary and Crematory in Ft. Morgan.
