OSCAR SALINAS, 74, lifelong area resident, died Wednesday, January 22, 2014 at East Morgan County Hospital in Brush. He was born in Carrizo Springs, TX on May 22, 1939 to Serapio & Maria (Burrell) Salinas. Oscar farmed and ranched in the area his whole life. He enjoyed playing cards and going to the "Hill" with his friends. He is survived by his wife, Rose (Trujillo) Salinas of Henderson, CO; his sons, Rene Salinas and his wife, Laurie of Fort Lupton, CO, and Rick Salinas and his wife, Connie of Superior, CO; his daughters, Melinda Melia and her husband, Brett of Elizabeth, CO, and Jodi Bissell and her husband, Dave of Henderson, CO. He is also surived by his 8 grandchildren, Dane, Vincent, Joseph, Zachary, Jason, Sara, Ian, and Jordan; and his siblings, Roy, Juana, Virginia, Gloria, and Rosie. Oscar was preceded in death by his parents; and his brothers, Frank and Joe. A memorial service will be at Centennial Manor, 612 Ray Street in Brush on Monday, January 27th at 11:00 AM.
