Patricia Irey, 68, Life long resident of Morgan County died Sunday at her home in Ft. Morgan. She was born December 22, 1939 in Ft. Morgan to Jake and Irene (Fry) Schantz. She married Marvin Irey February 3, 1959 in Ft. Morgan. Patricia worked for the school district for 23 years cooking at the Columbine School, she was head cook at the time of her retirement. In her younger years she served in the Civil Air Patrol. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Ft. Morgan, she was involved in the Women's Circle and helped with many of the activities of the church. She was a member of the DOES, the Red Hats and the Dancercizers. She enjoyed dancing, baking cakes, reading, crafts, and spending time with her family, especially going to her grandchildren's sporting events. She is survived by her children Teresa Vangraefschepe and her husband Wayne, and Robert Irey all of Ft. Morgan, one brother Jacob Schantz of Evans, two sisters Marjorie Shelton of Brush, and Linda Shooly of Montrose, and 3 grandchildren Carter, Kaitlin, and Keaton Vangraefschepe. She was preceded in death by her husband Marvin, her daughter Debra, one brother Paul Schantz and her parents. Visitation will be held on Wednesday 3-6 pm at the Heer Mortuary in Ft. Morgan. A funeral service will be held on Thursday at 10:30 am at the United Methodist Church in Ft. Morgan.
