Patricia (Pat) B. Knight passed away February 2, 2022 in Brush. She was born May 15, 1928 in Bronxville, New York.

She grew up in and around Rochester, NY and started her journey west in 1950 aboard a Greyhound Bus carrying a portable radio and two suitcases. Her first stop was Chicago, IL, then Wisconsin, Omaha, NE, southern Illinois and finally Morgan County, CO.

Since coming to Morgan County in 1986, Pat worked at the Brush Chamber of Commerce and the Fort Morgan Chamber of Commerce, established High Plains Welcome Service, and joined the Morgan County Area Arts Council, eventually becoming the president. She wrote for the Brush News Tribune as the news lady for Antelope Springs, Snyder, Hillrose and Brush.  She wrote columns including Birdseed in my bed and Pages from the past , until health issues caused her to stop writing. She also wrote Through the Chamber Door and was the editor of the pork plant's newsletter. Pat loved Colorado and the friends she made here.
