Patricia Lee
Mendoza
Jul 12, 1957 — Feb 6, 2021
Brush
Lifetime Fort Morgan/Brush resident, Patricia Lee Mendoza, age 63, with family by her side, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, February 6 th from complications after knee surgery at the Colorado Plains Medical Center in Fort Morgan, CO.
Patricia was born to the late David and Alice Perez on July 12, 1957 in Denver, CO. She graduated from Fort Morgan High School in 1975, and married the late Stephen R. Mendoza Sr. in November of 1977. She had a career caring for others as a CNA most of her life before she suffered a stroke in 2011.
She had a huge heart for anyone in need and could be counted on for a shoulder to cry on, an ear to listen and to give great advice. She believed it was important to have a relationship with God and she treasured time with her family and friends. She enjoyed learning about God's word, attending church, reading, trying new restaurants, visiting museums, going on mountain drives, playing games, and having fun with her friends. She valued family get-togethers with her children, son-in-law, daughter-in-law, grandkids, cousins Ernie, Bernie, and Lori. Frequently, she liked talking on the phone with her Aunt Nancy. Recently, she enjoyed volunteering annually for the Journey to Bethlehem Event at the All Saints Lutheran Church in Brush. She looked forward to annual family traditions such as attending the Nutcracker Ballet, picking out plants at nurseries for Mother's Day, taking the grandkids school shopping, and attending her grandchildren's sport, 4H and school events. She would always tell her grandchildren that she loved them to the moon and back!
Patricia is survived by daughter, Stephanie Hamburg (Jeremy), son Stephen Mendoza (Jennifer), five grandchildren, Amiliana (age 12), Maci (age 8), Jack (age 7), and twins Lorelai and Violet (age 3); sister, Melissa Morales; brothers, David and Nick Perez; aunts, Nancy Rodarte, Sally Peterson, and Maria Ybarra; as well as two nephews, three nieces, and many cousins and friends.
Due to COVID-19 precautions, the family is having a private service. The family wants everyone to know that they appreciate all the thoughts and prayers and are happy to know how much their mom meant to so many people.
