Obituary

Patricia Schrum, lifelong resident of Fort Morgan, passed away peacefully under comfort care at Common Spirit Saint Elizabeth Hospital on September 24, 2025 at 9:41 PM.

She was born on July 9th 1941 to parents Joseph and Eva Hudson (Tripplet) arriving five months before Pearl Harbor. She was the second child of three. Older brother, Richard and younger sister, Sandra.

Patricia attended the Fort Morgan schools and graduated with the class of 1959. In 1965 Patricia married Melvin J. Schrum, helping raise his children, Melvin Jr., Alvina, Lawrence, Michael, Linda and Ronnie. During their marriage they were significant to the growth of Fort Morgan and their family flourished here. They were married for 44 years.

Patricia was a gracious homemaker. One of her best skills was cooking and baking. Everything she made was 5 star. She was a lifelong member of the First Christian Church. She was also a supporter for the endangered species preservation, Saint Jude's Hospital and Colorado Law Enforcement, donating to all for several years.

Patricia enjoyed bowling for fun on a league and she would crochet afghans. She loved watching old classic movies and westerns. She read and collected a large variety of books from the mayo clinic to dogs going to heaven.

She is survived by her daughters, Michelle Johns, Alvina Schrum, Linda Dahl; sons, Melvin Schrum Jr., and Ronnie Schrum. She also had fourteen grandchildren and several great grandchildren.

Patricia was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Schrum Sr.; her parents, Joe and Eva Hudson; sons, Michael and Lawrence; brother, Richard Hudson; sister, Sandra Breazeale and grandson, Brian Geisick.

A visitation will be on Wednesday, October 8th from 4-6 PM at Heer Mortuary in Fort Morgan. Funeral service will be on Thursday, October 9th at 10:30 AM at First Christian Church in Fort Morgan. Interment will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery.
