Paul Richard Painter, 86, longtime resident of Brush, passed away August 15, 2013, in Denver, CO. He was born October 14, 1926, in Shelbyville, MO to Eugene and Nora (Gurnwalt) Painter. In 1963 the family moved from Hannibal, MO to Brush. Paul was an Army veteran who was privilaged with being able to participate with the Honor Flight within this last year. He is a previous member of the VFW #3551. In his later years he enjoyed fishing and cooking. He is survived by his son Vernon (Sandy) Painter, of Paris, MO; two daughters Carolyn (Sam) Holder, of Laknan, MO and Cheryl (Sam) Painter, of Monroe, MO; one sister, Ernestine Sullivan, of Monroe, MO; 11 grandchildren and several great-great grandchildren. Paul was preceded in death by his parents, two sons Roy Edward "Johnny" and Ronald Lee; 8 brothers and 3 sisters. No funeral services are planned at this time.
