Obituary

Paul Ellsworth Ververs died April 16, 2012. He was born June 19, 1914 near Patoka, Illinois to August Ververs and Clara Hintz Ververs. He attended High School at Sandoval, Illinois. After graduation he attended Browns Business College at Centralia, Illinois. He worked for Superior Oil Company Salem, Illinois. Later he completed a two year course in accounting and taxation. In 1950 he moved his family to Colorado. He worked as office manager for Allison Drilling Company. In 1960 he opened his own office in Fort Morgan dealing in accounting, real estate and oil leasing. On August 28, 1937 he married Alice D. Rogers of Du Quoin, Illinois. He loved all sports including baseball, football, hunting, fishing and golf. He was a life member of Elks Lodge #1143, and a member of Marion Masonic Lodge #130, Salem, Illinois, 32* Scottish Rite, Pueblo, Colorado, and a life member of Morgan Game & Fish Conservation Club, Inc. He was also a member of the Southern Colorado Consistory of Colorado Springs, Colorado and a NRA life member. He is survived by his wife, Alice, three daughters; Paula Sue Yost and husband Tom of Fresno, California, Donna Marie Smith and husband David Wayne and Vicki June Duke and husband Doak, all of Fort Morgan, seven grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and three great, great, grandchildren. He is also survived by one sister, Mildred Leicht of Patoka, Illinois. He was preceded in death by one sister, Eunice Walker and his parents. A viewing will be held on Thursday evening from 4-6 pm at the Heer & Dahl Mortuary in Ft. Morgan. A funeral service will be held on Friday at 10:30 at the United Methodist Church. The service will conclude at the church. A private interment will be held in the Memory Gardens. Friends who wish may make memorial donations in Paul's name to the Fort Morgan United Methodist Church.
