PAULINE G. MARTINEZ, 69, longtime Fort Morgan resident and schoolteacher, died Wednesday afternoon, September 7, 2011 at the North Colorado Medical Center in Greeley. She was born December 1, 1941 in Delagua, CO to Jose & Natividad Flores. She married Raymond Martinez in Aguilar, CO on June 26, 1965. They lived in Aztec, NM for a short time before making Fort Morgan their home in 1966. Mr. & Mrs. Martinez shared a passion for school teaching, as they both taught in Fort Morgan for numerous years. Pauline received her degree from the University of Northern Colorado in 1981 and then taught 2nd grade at Columbine Elementary School for over 20 years before her retirement in 2002. Pauline was a member of Saint Helena Catholic Church in Fort Morgan and the Red Hat Society. She was involved with the hospital auxiliary and also worked at the gift shop at Colorado Plains Medical Center. She enjoyed knitting, sewing, reading, and traveling. Her family, especially her grandchildren, were most important to her. Mrs. Martinez also enjoyed walking her dog, her most faithful friend. She is survived by her daughters, Tina (John) Dominguez of Novato, CA, and Theresa Martinez of Thornton; her grandchildren, Evan Dominguez and Katie Dominguez; her siblings, Frances (Robert) Gallegos of Dumas, TX, Joe (Emma) Flores of Broomfield, David (Margie) Flores of Killeen, TX, Alice Sawaya of Trinidad, Linda Flores of Santa Fe, NM, Pete (Deanna) Flores of Milliken, and Louise (Larrie) Giuliano of Johnstown. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband; and her siblings, Lupe "Joe" Saldivar and John Flores. A Rosary Vigil will be Sunday, September 11th at 7:00 PM at the Heer & Dahl Mortuary Chapel in Fort Morgan. Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, September 12th at 10:30 AM at Saint Helena Catholic Church in Fort Morgan. Services will conclude at the church followed by cremation. Inurnment will be in Fort Logan National Cemetery (Stage A) in Denver on Tuesday, September 13th at 11:00 AM.
