Pedro "Pete" Garcia Jr., 63, of Greeley, died Wednesday, August 22, 2018 at his home after a battle with cancer.

He was born in Fort Morgan on April 14, 1955 to Pedro Sr. & Madelina Garcia. He attended area schools and graduated from Fort Morgan High School. Pete married Irma O'canas in Texas on January 6, 1990. They have lived in Greeley for the last 30 + years.

Pete worked as a Derrickhand in the oilfield for several years. He was a diehard motorcyclist. He loved to ride his bike and go to Sturgis. Pete will be remembered as a hardworking man that loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. He was an avid outdoorsman, loved fishing, and tending to his garden. Pete also enjoyed watching wrestling on TV and he also liked to take trips "up to the hills" to go gambling with his wife.

Pete is survived by his wife, Irma Garcia; his sons, Jeremiah Holguin and wife, Amira, and Freddy Garcia and wife, Adilene, all of Greeley; his daughter, Melissa Pitt of Salt Lake City, UT; his father, Pete Garcia Sr. of Fort Morgan; three step sons, Rueben Villarreal and wife, Ruby of Seminole, TX, and Roy Villarreal and Abel Villarreal, both of Greeley; and his sisters, Ava Parra and husband, Juan of Glenwood Springs, and Belinda Garcia of Fort Morgan. He is also survived by his eight grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Rafalita Garcia; and his mother, Maggie Garcia.

Visitation will be Sunday, August 26th from 4 -6 PM with recitation of The Holy Rosary at 6 PM at the Heer Mortuary Chapel in Fort Morgan.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 AM on Monday, August 27th at Saint Helena's Catholic Church in Fort Morgan.
