Peter Ruhl, Jr., more commonly known as Pete, of Fort Morgan, passed away peacefully with his family at his side on Monday, January 15, 2018 at Highline Place in Littleton. He was 92.

He was born in Fort Morgan on February 22, 1925 to Peter & Marie (Sagel) Ruhl. He attended area schools until he began working on the family farm. He married the love of his life, Frances Kudlock on June 12, 1949. Pete began his near 35 career as a truck driver and concrete laborer with Dorn Ready Mix while Frances worked at Clark Feather Company. They resided in Fort Morgan all of their life and celebrated 55 years of marriage before Frances' untimely death in 2004. After her death, Pete began the daunting task of learning to live on his own which he struggled with on a daily basis. He found meaning and purpose for his life irrelevant in her absence but be continued to press on with the love of God, family, and friends. He spoke of Frances often and missed her more and more with each passing day. We are happy for him that on Monday afternoon they were finally reunited and now his heart is whole once again.

Pete was a member of Immanuel Evangelical Church in Fort Morgan as well as what we will refer to as "The McDonald's Coffee Club" and "East & West 7-Eleven Scratch Ticket Circuit". He was a "Yard Sales Entrepreneur" and he loved to tinker around and work in his garage. He was very musically gifted. He loved to sing, and play his guitar and harmonica. Pete will be remembered as a hard worker that was dedicated to his job and to his family.

He is survived by his daughters, Lynne Berryhill and husband, Mike of Estes Park, Gail Burns and husband, Paul of Denver; his grandchildren, Peter Berryhill of Durango, Sally Weaver and husband, Ryan of Monument, Kathryn Russell-Jones and husband, James of London, England, and Charlie Burns and fiancée, Karen May of Denver; and his great grandchildren, Liam, Luke, and Cole. Pete is also survived by his brother, Donald "Chic" Ruhl and wife, Donna of Brush; and three sisters, Ruth Brandt of Fort Morgan, Wilma Moore of Denver, and Virginia Schimpf and husband, Ervin of Falcon.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Mary Brandt, Lydia Schlothauer, and Emma Schlothauer; his brother, Wilbert "Dip" Ruhl, and his beloved wife, Frances.

Funeral services will be Friday, January 19th at 11:00 AM at Immanuel Evangelical Church, 318 West Seventh Ave. in Fort Morgan. Interment will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery.
