Phillip Garcia, 87, longtime area resident, died, Sunday, July 3, 2011 at the Bonell Good Samaritan Center in Greeley. He was born August 23, 1923 in San Marcos, Texas to Felipe and Concepcion (Ruiz) Garcia. Garcia moved to this area from Texas in 1947. He was a member of the Greeley North Four Square Church in Greeley, Colorado. Phillip enjoyed dancing and shooting pool. Survivors include brothers, Daniel Garcia of Sanger, California, Matias Garcia of Tuscon, Arizona and John Garcia of Wiggins, sisters, Marina Montez of Brush, Rebecca Martinez of Wiggins, Anita Leyva of Evans and a close friend, Micaella Villa. Phillip was preceded in death by his parents. There will be a visitation on Wednesday, July 6th from 5 until 7 pm at the Heer & Dahl Mortuary in Ft. Morgan. Graveside Services will be held Thursday, July 7th at 10:30 am at Memory Gardens in Ft. Morgan. Interment will follow in Memory Gardens.
