Obituary

Phyllis Marie Macneal, 89, lifelong Fort Morgan resident, passed away Monday, October 6, 2008 at the Valley View Villa Care Center in Fort Morgan. She was born April 29, 1919 in Fort Morgan to H.J. and Olive C. (Erickson) Williams. Phyllis was a nurse for the Fort Morgan School District for over 20 years. She was a member of the United Presbyterian Church in Fort Morgan. Phyllis was also a member of the VFW and was a 50 year member of PEO Chapter EG. She enjoyed playing bridge, painting, gardening and doing various kinds of needle work, including knitting and embroidering. Survivors include two daughters, Peggy Layton and husband Larry of Windsor and Mary Lou Macneal of Thornton, one son, Bob Macneal of Ft. Collins, two grandchildren, two step grandchildren and several great grandchildren. Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents, one son, William Macneal, one brother, Mauritz Williams and two sisters, Gwen Pearson and Polly Stenback. A Celebration of her life will be held Friday, October 10, 2008 at 10:00 AM at the United Presbyterian Church in Fort Morgan. Services will conclude at the Church. There will be a private inurnment in Serenity Falls Columbarium in Fort Morgan at a later date. In lieu of flowers, Memorial Gifts may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Northern Colorado at 1106 E. 6th Ave, Fort Morgan, Colorado 80701. The Heer Mortuary and Crematory in Fort Morgan is in charge of the cremation arrangements.
