Pauline "Polly" Brandau, 81, longtime Lindon area resident, passed away Wednesday evening, July 4, 2007, at the Eben Ezer Lutheran Care Center in Brush. She was born August 24, 1925, in Alva, OK, to Emery & Mae Wilson. She served as a cadet nurse during WW II. On March 4, 1946, Polly married Vernon "Bud" Brandau in Yuma, AZ. In 1950 the Brandau's moved to Otis and then in 1956 to a family farm and ranch near Lindon. Polly was an avid card player, especially playing bridge. She also enjoyed playing Bingo, reading novels, and Quilting with the ladies at the Howard United Methodist Church in Last Chance. She enjoyed being a snow-bird, spending many winters in Arizona. Survivors include her husband, Bud, of Lindon; 3 children, Judy Downs, and her husband, Del, of Casper, WY, Nancy Gettman, and her husband David, of Lindon, CO, and Gene Brandau, and his wife, Roma, of Lindon; 6 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren (and another on the way), and 1 great granddaughter. A memorial service will be held Monday, July 9, 2007, at 10:00 AM at the Howard United Methodist Church in Last Chance. Inurnment will follow in the Abbott Cemetery.
