Rachel Meininger, 94, of Brush, passed away on Tuesday, January 10, 2023 at the East Morgan County Hospital. She was born May 21, 1928 in Fort Morgan to John & Katherine (Sagel) Kembel.

Rachel married Melvin Meininger in Fort Morgan on November 6, 1949. Together they raised their family of six children. Rachel later worked at the More Value Store in Brush, and later Fort Morgan. She also did housekeeping for a number of years, and lastly, she worked at Wendy's in Brush before her retirement.

Rachel was a member of Immanuel Congregational Church in Brush where she was an active participant in Women's Fellowship. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, crocheting, tending to her house plants, cooking, and making baked goods.

Survivors include her children, Sharon (Rick) Holmes, Melvin (Sandra) Meininger, and Timothy Meininger, all of Brush, Joan Beyer of Centennial, and Laurie (Ronald) Freeman of Clarksville, TN, as well as her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is also survived by two sisters, Miriam Hoffman of Fort Morgan, and Lillian Peek of Lafayette; and her brother, Ben Kembel of Arvada.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband; her daughter, Marilyn Meininger; son-in-law, Gladwin Beyer; her grandson, Adam Beyer; sisters, Esther Fries, Rose Krening, Ruth Krening, Carol Saunders, Linda Klein, and Sally Law; and her brothers, John Kembel Jr., Ruben Kembel, and Dan Kembel.

A private family Inurnment will be in Brush Memorial Cemetery.
