Ralph Leon Fiscus, 81, passed away on May 3, 2026. He was born on June 13, 1944, in New Raymer, Colorado. He lived the majority of his life in LaPorte, Colorado, a place he proudly called home.

Ralph was a man deeply rooted in family. He dearly loved his three daughters and took immense pride in the women they became—their accomplishments, their careers, and the families they built.

He worked as a pipefitter and, outside of work, lived simply and fully. Ralph cherished time with his siblings and friends, gathering to share music, laughter, stories, and cold beer. Some of his favorite moments were spent in jam sessions with guitars, fiddles, and mandolins filling the room. Over the years, he built a well-loved collection of guitars, boots, and cowboy hats, and he rarely passed up the chance to wander through a pawn shop in search of his next great find.

Ralph loved the land where he was raised and returned to it often, spending quiet days driving through the ranch and around New Raymer. In the fall, he found peace in the changing leaves of the Poudre Canyon and the steady beauty of the Rocky Mountains. In his younger years, he rodeoed and spent many days on horseback, often riding with his daughters—memories he carried closely throughout his life. Later in life, he enjoyed riding bikes with his grandsons along the Poudre River, time that remained close to his heart.

After retirement, Ralph spent much of his time at the American Legion, where he formed lasting friendships and found a strong sense of community. When asked what he was up to, his answer was often simple: "Legion."

Ralph served his country in Vietnam and carried a quiet pride in his military service throughout his life. Though he rarely spoke about his time there, it remained an important part of who he was.

Ralph will be remembered for his deep love of family, his appreciation for music, the ranch, and the mountains, his loyalty to friends, and his steady, unpretentious way of living. His stories, laughter, and presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Ralph is survived by his daughters: Tania Hytrek, her husband Toby, and their children, Reise and Taylor; Trina Alford, her husband Tony, and their children, Rylan, Kyler, and Braydon; and Trisa Giuliani, her husband Jeff, and their children, Skylar and Raegan.

He is also survived by his sisters: Bonnie Kirschbaum; Sherril Scharf; Bernice Fiscus: Marsha Clark and her husband Dan; and sister-in-law Sandy Fiscus; along with many nieces, nephews, and extended family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Glen and Dorothy (Philp) Fiscus, and his brothers Merle, Arnold, and Gerald Fiscus.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM, on May 23, 2026, at the New Raymer Cemetery, (take Road 131 north off Hwy. 14 approximately one mile to Road 88 and turn left) A reception will follow at the New Raymer Community Center, 23 Shirley Avenue, New Raymer, CO.
