Ralph Eugene Spomer, 90, of Brush, Colorado, passed away peacefully at home on July 7, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family.

Ralph was born on September 7, 1935, in Denver, Colorado, to George Spomer and Kathryn Spomer (Green). He was raised in the Globeville neighborhood and attended North High School. Not long after, he answered the call to serve his country, becoming an electrician in the United States Navy. Ralph served honorably from July 21, 1954, until January 16, 1961, including time in the Naval Reserves, and was stationed at the Charleston Naval Base in South Carolina. Following his military service, he carried that same dedication into his lifelong career as a master electrician, taking pride in his work and providing for his family.

On October 17, 1958, Ralph married Maxine White, and together they built a life and raised three children. Years later, life brought an unexpected and meaningful blessing when Ralph discovered he had another daughter in 2017. Meeting her in person shortly after was a moment he cherished deeply.

Ralph was a man who found joy in the simple, meaningful things in life. He loved woodworking, camping, fly fishing, and building model cars. He had a passion for genealogy and spent countless hours working on the family tree, ensuring that future generations would know where they came from. He also enjoyed playing cards—especially pinochle—and sharing laughter around the table. He was a perfectionist especially when it came to his woodworking hobby. He loved looking thru magazines and finding things he could build for anyone in the family. His latest project was making a sand and water table for the great-great grandchildren.

Above all else, Ralph loved his family. Time spent together meant everything to him. Whether it was a quiet conversation, a family gathering, or cheering on his beloved Denver Broncos—often loudly voicing his opinions to the referees—he brought energy, humor, and heart into every moment.

He is survived by his sisters Judy (Larry) Henry and June "Claudia" (Richard) McCauley; his children MaryWynn (Chris) Todd Chamblin, Kathryn "Kathy" Smith, Karen (Adrian "Speedy") Gonzalez, and Ronald "Ron" (Sandra "Sandy") Spomer; as well as numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and all who were fortunate enough to be part of his extended family.

Ralph was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Maxine Spomer; his parents, George and Kathryn Spomer; his stepmother, Zelma Spomer; and his sister, Shirley Foos.

A service with full military honors will be held on July 31, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. at Fort Logan National Cemetery, 3698 S. Sheridan Blvd., Denver, Colorado 80236.

Ralph will be deeply missed, but his stories, laughter, and love will live on in the hearts of his family forever.
