Obituary

Ralph Henry Williams 93 longtime area resident died, Monday, October 23, 2006 at the Valley View Villa Care Center in Ft. Morgan. He was born May 8, 1913 in Lenora, Kansas to Marion and Edith (Wilcox) Williams. Ralph moved to Weldona as a small boy, moved back to Lenora, then came back to Weldona where he worked for the railroad for a time. He also worked in Oregon at a lumber mill before moving to Nebraska to farm. Ralph moved to Ft. Morgan from Nebraska in 1959 and worked at Dorn Ready Mix for a number of years. He married Mary (Ecton) Doak on December 21, 1961 in Ft. Morgan. Ralph was a member of the Church of the Brethren in Brighton, Colorado He enjoyed fishing, hunting, bowling, finding and collecting arrowheads and watching football games on TV. Survivors include, three step-children, Glenda O'Conor of Thornton, CO, Gary Doak of Stanton, California and David Doak of Texarkana, Arkansas, eight step-grandchildren, twelve step-great grandchildren and 11 step great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Mary, three brothers, Jack, Bruce and Claude Williams, three sisters, Thelma Edson, Opal Olmstead and Fern Drake and several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be Friday, October 27, 2006 at 10:30 AM at the Heer & Jolliffe Mortuary Chapel in Ft. Morgan. Interment will follow in Memory Gardens. Visitation will be Thursday, the 26th from 2 until 7 PM at the Heer & Jolliffe Mortuary in Ft. Morgan. Friends who wish may make memorial gifts to Hospice and Palliative Care of Northern Colorado at 1106 E. 6th Ave., Ft. Morgan, Colorado 80701. The Heer & Jolliffe Mortuary in Ft. Morgan is in charge of the arrangements.
