Randy Alan Patten, 81, of Fort Morgan passed away in his sleep on April 2, 2025. Graveside services will be held Monday, April 14th at 1:00 PM at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Fort Morgan, Colorado.

Randy was born on October 1, 1943, to Maxine (Cyprian) Patten of Fort Morgan. After graduating from Fort Morgan High School, he joined the Army. He was stationed in Germany driving bridge tanks. Returning during the Big Flood of 1965, he met the love of his life Pamela Jean Duvall. They married in 1966 and moved to Pueblo, Colorado where they were blessed with a daughter, Jennifer. The family returned to Fort Morgan and were again blessed with a daughter Jill and son Toby.

Randy joined the police force where he would rise to the rank of sergeant. He was committed to his job and community, sometimes making friends with people he had arrested. After 18 years, Randy retired from the police department taking on a second career as a printer and businessman. Randy and Pam bought Commercial Printers on Main Street and soon after opened Covenant Bible Book Store. The bookstore would later become Patten Guns. On his retirement, the businesses continued under the management of his son Toby and daughter-in-law Abby.
Randy enjoyed retirement, telling stories to everyone who would come into the shop. He had the philosophy borrowed from his father-in-law, if you don't know what to say, make up a good story. He was also a member of the Gun Club where he was president for many years.

Randy is predeceased in death by his beloved wife Pam, sister Valerie Nichols, mother Maxine Patten, and brothers Thomas and Kenneth Patten.

He is survived by daughters Jennifer Mishra and Jill Patten, and son Toby Patten.
