Ray Medina, 66, of Sterling passed away Sunday, January 3, 2021,at his home surrounded by his loving family.  Ray was born on September 26, 1954, in Brush to Pete & Felesita Medina.

Ray graduated from Brush High School in 1973,    In 1995 he moved to Sterling.  Prior to ill health forcing his retirement, Ray was passionate in his job as a concrete finisher and a welder.  He loved watching the Denver Broncos, playing foosball with his good friends and spending time with his family.

In 2016 a very special little girl came into his life and forever changed his life.  His granddaughter, Brilynn was the apple of his eye, event to the point of carrying her purse everywhere they went.  To Brilynn he was gentle, caring, cartoon watching partner, and most importantly, her loving Papa.  Brilynn & Katie were the true reason he fought so hard in his courageous battle with cancer for so long.  He will be deeply missed by his two girls, along with his family and many friends.

Survivors include his daughter, Katie (Brian Fetzer) of Sterling; his granddaughter, Brilynn Rae Fetzer; step daughter, Michelle Dahlinger; 5 sisters, Rose (Gabe) Rodriquez, Jennie (Nick) Padilla, Mary Chavez, Carmen (Arturo) Quezada, & Julia (Ed) Sanchez; and 1 brother, Pete (Theresa) Medina, along with his cat Boo, and many cousins, nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his Father, Pete Medina), his Mother, Felisita Medina and 2 brothers, Felix Medina and Manuel Medina and Laurie Teter.

A Memorial Service will be April 30, 2021 at 10:30 AM at the Heer Mortuary Chapel in Brush.  Inurnment will be at the Brush Memorial Cemetery.
