Obituary

RAY W. RUSH, 92, longtime area resident, died Friday evening, January 30, 2009 at the Eben Ezer Lutheran Care Center in Brush. He was born March 17, 1916 in Seymour, MO to Perry & Jewel (Goss) Rush. He served in the US Army during WW II. Mr. Rush married Mollie Dorsch in Raton, NM on January 17, 1946. They moved to Fort Morgan in 1982. Mr. Rush farmed for a number of years and also worked for the railroad. He retired from CDOT as a Maintenance Forman, where he also worked for several years. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Fort Morgan and the V.F.W. Post 2551, Fort Morgan. He enjoyed gardening, woodworking, and spending time with his family. Survivors include his wife, Mollie Rush of Fort Morgan; two daughters, Judith Taylor of Fort Morgan and Jane Blakemore of Tehachapi, CA; his sister, Jeanine Burks of Fordland, MO; 2 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his sister, Dorothy Mabe, and his parents. Funeral services will be at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, February 4, 2009 at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Fort Morgan. Interment will follow in Memory Gardens in Fort Morgan with Military Honors conducted by the V.F.W. Post 2551. Friends may make memorial gifts to Trinity Lutheran Church. The Heer & Dahl Mortuary in Fort Morgan is in charge of arrangements.
