Raymond John Godo Sr., 85, longtime area resident, died Saturday, November 1, 2014 at his home in Fort Morgan. Raymond was born May 25, 1929 in Fort Morgan to Charles and Catherine Godo. He lived and went to school in Columbus, Ohio for 12 years. There he worked on the bombs that were dropped out of aircraft during WWII. After this chapter in his life, he came home and farmed with his father. He married Margaret L. Griffith on March 21, 1954 in Fort Morgan at the 1st Christian Church. They were married for over 60 years. He was a member of the local Elks Club, a 4H leader, and enjoyed fishing, and going on picnics. He farmed 220 acres and milked Grade A Milk for 22 years. He also worked for the Great Western Sugar Factory, the beef plant, and the Roch Lab out of Denver, until his retirement in 1980. Survivors include his wife Margaret of Ft. Morgan, sons, Raymond Godo Jr., Terry Godo and Michael Godo all of Fort Morgan, Charles Godo of Berthoud, and Paul Godo, and wife Loretta, of Firestone, one daughter, Eva Godo Frank of Loveland, eight grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren. Raymond was preceded in death by three brothers, Lloyd, and Ted, Godo, and Charles Goodwin, three sisters, Anna Godo, Rose Bowles and Mary Bartha, and his parents. There will be a visitation on November 5, 2014 from 6 until 8 pm at the Heer Mortuary in Ft. Morgan. Funeral Services will be Thursday, November 6, 2014 at 10:30 am at the Heer Mortuary Chapel in Fort Morgan. Interment will follow in Memory Gardens.
