Raymond J. Hoffman, 82, former Fort Morgan area resident, passed away Friday, April 20, 2007, at the St. Joseph Medical Center in Denver. He was born January 2, 1925, in Fort Morgan, to Jacob & Katherine Hoffman. He graduated from the 8th grade at the Wildcat School. In 1956, after the family sold their farm operation, Raymond moved to the Denver area and worked as a groundskeeper and maintenance for the Aurora Public School for over 25 years. While living in Fort Morgan, Raymond was a member of the Christ Congregational Church. He enjoyed tinkering with small engine repair. Survivors include 3 brothers, Herman, and his wife Dorothy, of Denver, Leroy, and his wife, Jeanette, of Longmont, Jerold, and his wife Alice, of Parker; 3 sisters, Helen Reiber of Commerce City, CO, Edna Kalous of Brush, and Beverly Moses, and her husband Gary, of Keensburg, CO; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by 1 brother, James; 3 sisters, Leona Miller, Rachel Hoffman, and Evelyn Winder, and his parents. A memorial service will be held at the Heer & Jolliffe Mortuary on Friday, April 27, 2007, at 10:30 AM. Inurnment will follow in the Riverside Cemetery in Fort Morgan.
