Obituary

RAYMOND "KAT" SEGURA, 56, lifelong Morgan County resident, died Thursday, March 15, 2012 as a result of a work related accident. He was born Raymond Segura Jr. on January 28, 1956 in Fort Morgan to Raymond Sr. & Pomposa (Vaquez) Segura. He attended Fort Morgan schools and graduated from Fort Morgan High School with the class of 1974. Kat worked for Jack Bean Co. in Fort Morgan, which later became Kelley Bean Co. He had a near 26 year career with the company. Kat enjoyed fishing, his dogs, and he was an avid Denver Bronco's fan. His family was most important to him and he especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. He was indeed the type of man that lived every day to the fullest. Survivors include his wife, Toni Ortega of Hillrose; his children and their spouses, Michelle & Jesus Berrum of Thornton, Margareta & Benjamin Gay of Hillrose, and Samson & Sophia Ortega of Scottsbluff, NE; his 12 grandchildren, Samantha, Alexis, Benjamin, Damien, Adam, Julie, Luis, Brianna, Serena, Sureya, Samson Jr., and SeVone. Kat is also survived by his parents, Raymond Sr. & Pomposa Segura; his siblings and their spouses, Lidia & Jesus Gonzalez of Sioux City, Iowa, Ricardo Segura of Fort Morgan, Suelma & Dave Temple of Fort Morgan, Elena & Anacleto Vicente-Lopez of Fort Morgan, Jane DeLeon of Houston, Texas, and Rogelio & Annabelle Segura of Fort Morgan. Kat was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Simon & Eusabia Segura; his maternal grandparents, Estanisloa & Catarina Vasquez; and two nieces, Catherine DeLeon-Gonzalez and Adrianna Gonzalez. Visitation will be Tuesday, March 20th from 2 – 7 PM with a Rosary Vigil beginning at 7:00 PM at the Heer & Dahl Mortuary Chapel in Fort Morgan. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, March 21st at Saint Helena Catholic Church in Fort Morgan. Interment will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery in Fort Morgan.
