Richard Eugene Blake, 61, lifelong area resident, died Sunday, March 21, 2010 in a traffic accident on highway 71 south of Brush. Richard was born August 21, 1948 in Brush to Paul and Maxine(Amsberry) Blake. Richard married Rhonda McGinness on August 15, 1980 in Fort Morgan. He attended both the Howard Methodist Church in Last Chance and the Cowboy Church in Brush. He lived in Lindon and was a farmer and a rancher. Mr. Blake enjoyed traveling, fishing and hunting. He loved his family and they were very important to him. Survivors include his wife, Rhonda of Lindon, two daughters, Ronna Thomas of Woodlands, Texas and Shanti-Anna Smallwood of Denver, one son, Michael Blake of Denver, his mother, Maxine Blake of Lindon, one sister, Diana Sulya of Naples, Florida and five grandchildren. Richard was preceded in death by his father, Paul Blake and his brother, Paul Edgar Blake. Visitation will be Wednesday, March 24, 2010 from 3 until 7 pm at the Heer & Dahl Mortuary in Brush. Funeral Services will be Thursday, March 25, 2010 at 1:30 pm at the Brush United Methodist Church in Brush. Interment will follow in Brush Memorial Cemetery.
